ÇEVKO

The ÇEVKO Foundation, which is a member of Pro-Europe, Expra (Extended Producer Responsibility Alliance) and ISWA (International Solid Waste Association), is a non-profit foundation aimed at contributing to the establishment of a sustainable recovery system with the contributions and participation of industry, local government and consumers for the economic and regular recovery of packaging wastes in Turkey.

ÇEVKO Foundation, which adopts the Integrated Waste Management principles; prioritize the responsibility of local governments, the industry and consumers alike with this system. In the context of Turkey’s harmonization with the European Union, within the framework of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Control Regulation published in 2005, ÇEVKO Foundation has been declared as an Authorized Organization by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. Since this date, organizations that have launched the packaged product to the market have begun to transfer the acquisition obligations to the ÇEVKO Foundation for the recovery of packaging wastes.

ÇEVKO Foundation has received Environmental License or Temporary Activity Certificate from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in packaging waste collection and separation and has signed at least 3 year contract with any district municipality in accordance with the procedures and principles of documentation and cooperate with the organizations which are included in municipal approved packaging waste management plan.

Licensed Firms, including us, who regularly notify to the Ministry with regard to their licenses and activities related to the activities of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, are collecting, transporting, sorting and recycling packaging wastes in accordance with the provisions of the Packaging Waste Control Regulation, by taking all the necessary precautions.
